Altadena Congregations Together Serving (ACTS) is holding a series of salad suppers in July and August to look at "Building Community: How Are We Called to Action?" Please bring a vegetarian dsh to share: appetizers, main dishes, fruits, salads, desserts, etc.
The next supper will be Thurs., July 14, at Altadena Baptist Church, 791 E. Calavaras St. It will feature a panel of ACTS members currently serving their congregations and/or communities.
On Thurs., July 28: "How Do We Get to Know Our Neighbors?" with guest speaker Rev. Mark Lau Branson, Ed.D. at First Church of Christ Scientist, 942 E. Altadena Dr.
On Thurs., Aug. 4, the topic will be "Finding and Taking The Next Steps: Individually Within Our Congregations And As ACTS." The supper will be at Altadena Community Church, 943 E. Altadena Dr.
Speakers are from local Baha'i, Baptist, Christian Scientist, Episcopal, Jewish, Islamic, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and United Church of Christ communities.
Donations will be accepted for low income elementary school students in Altadena: backpacks, pencil boxes, packs of pencils, crayone, lined paper, erasers, and/or cash.
