Triple-digit temperatures and increased humidity today -- some areas may even see thunderstorms and rain! It's just going to be miserable, so drink plenty of fluids today. The National Weather Service shouts:
...INCREASING THREAT OF THUNDERSTORMS ON FOURTH OF JULY... A STRONG UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM CENTERED OVER SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA WILL CONTINUE TO BRING HOT TEMPERATURES TO THE INLAND AREAS TODAY. MANY AREAS WILL CONTINUE TO SEE TRIPLE DIGIT TEMPERATURES TODAY. HUMIDITIES WILL BE A LITTLE HIGHER TODAY AND THIS WILL MAKE THE WARM TEMPERATURES FEEL EVEN WORSE. A SURGE OF MONSOONAL MOISTURE WILL MOVE INTO THE FORECAST AREA TODAY...BRINGING AN INCREASED THREAT OF THUNDERSTORMS. THE GREATEST THREAT OF STORMS WILL BE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND ANTELOPE VALLEY... BUT A SLIGHT CHANCE OF STORMS EXISTS FOR ALL COASTAL AND VALLEY AREAS SOUTH OF POINT CONCEPTION. THERE COULD EVEN BE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WITH A POTENTIAL TO BRING FLASH FLOODING THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...ESPECIALLY IN THE MOUNTAINS. A MOIST SOUTHEAST FLOW IN THE UPPER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE WILL CONTINUE TO BRING A SLIGHT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. WHILE THE INCREASED MOISTURE LEVELS WILL LIKELY BRING SOME COOLING OF DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE REGION MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY... THE INCREASED HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL ADD TO THE DISCOMFORT LEVELS.
