The Altadena Crest Trail Restoration Working Group (ACTRWG) meets tonight at 7 PM at the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Dr.
Two major items on the agenda, according to ACTRWG's Robert Staehle:
1. Maintenance (or lack thereof) of Brown Mt. Fire Road, including portion of road that is emergency escape and Fire Dept. access linking Chaney Trail to Millard Canyon campground and Upper Risinghill Road (evacuation route for the Chaney Trail Neighborhood, The Meadows and Upper El Prieto Canyon residents). Trail / road maintenance and grading, including repair to the Millard Creek crossing.
-- First hand reports, photos of the fire road (before the Station Fire and current conditions), and images of the stream crossing in Millard Cyn Campground would be helpful.
2. “Lincoln Avenue Water Company Project” Environmental Assessment (EA), public comment due 30 September to USFS re: permit USFS renewals / agency permit acquisitiom and pipeline replacement and reroute along Mount Lowe Fire Road.
The Lincoln Avenue Water Company is planning to replace about 1,400 feet of century-old pipeline in Millard Canyon.
