Now Rosie's going Hollywood
from Altadena town.
Excitement---- though much paperwork,
can seem to make one drown.
When actors leap through life to film,
they find a different state.
For continuity slows down,
"It's HURRY UP and WAIT!"
And pampered in that make-up chair,
just like that Sheba queen.
And what to wear? Do colors work?
Can make one want to scream.
Those labor laws, children protect,
all day for fun, perhaps?
Oh no! You've got that homework too!
You could not escape class!
But truly, it's a day of fun,
a chance to meet new folk.
And all the food that's there for you,
feeds army--- that's no joke!
"Just be yourself," directors say,
though film is work, IT'S PLAY!
Great energy from all around
creates a lovely day.
Distractions come to all actors,
not just from tabloid goons.
Success is freedom, that's the truth,
and then that swing set looms!
For who on earth can resist swings?
A chance to fly, so free.
If all on earth---- each had a swing?
Then peace, the world would see.
So Rosie, you will act some more,
I feel it in my bones.
