If you're a reader in Pasadena and its environs, more than likely you would have been found in only one place on the morning of March 3. The Pasadena Senior Center played host to a sold-out Festival of Women Authors. Close to 300 women with a smattering of men gathered in the Scott Pavilion on Raymond to hear four award-winning Southern California authors recount their writing journeys to fame and fortune.
Authors Heidi Durrow, Fannie Flagg, Altadena author Michelle Huneven and Susan Straight were featured at the fourth annual event. The moderator was Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey, known for her novel, “A Woman of Independent Means.” Hailey is working on her first non-fiction book with her daughter, Kendall Hailey. “It's about love and loss and cleaning out closets,” said the moderator.
