Candidates for the state Assembly district representing Pasadena and South Pasadena differ on how to bolster the struggling economy, but agree on the need for public pension reform and aren’t too keen on a statewide schools tax or plans to extend the Long Beach (710) Freeway.
The three Democrats and two Republicans on the June 5 ballot for the 41st Assembly District addressed voters during a debate sponsored by the Pasadena Sun at Southern California Public Radio’s Crawford Family Forum on Wednesday. Candidates fielded questions from the audience of nearly 100.
Under the state’s new primary system, the top two vote-getters — regardless of party affiliation — will move on to the November general election.
