The 35th annual Peace Officers Memorial Torch Run will start Fri., May 18 at Sheriff's Headquarters in Monterey Park and finish at about 2:30 PM at the Altadena Sheriff Station on Sun., May 20. The annual run is a tribute to the peace officers in Los Angeles County who have been killed in the line of duty.
The completion of the run will be is quickly approaching. This year's run starts at Sheriff's Headquarters on Friday, May 18th and will finish at Altadena Station around 1430 hrs on Sunday, May 20th. The run is a tribute to the peace officers of Los Angeles County killed in the line of duty.
The race is not a timed event, but a way of passing the torch from one station to another. Participants may jog, ride a bicycle, roller skate/skate board, or even drive a car in the caravan. It is open to both sworn and non-sworn of ALL ages. Our duty is to pick up the torch at CVS and bring it to ALD. Once here, there will be a brief memorial ceremony followed by a free bar-b-que lunch
