Jo Mann is the Altadena Library District's artist for September, with her show, "Silence in Company."
Jo’s work reflects the need and balance in one’s lives, the elimination of the unnecessary, and the goal of simplicity with substance. Jo believes art should be didactic and conveying and that her pieces help people to think freely and project their connections into the artwork. Jo incorporates the urban reality of found materials to express the underlying but ever-present clutter and cacophony of contemporary life.
The reduction of form and harmonious color palette speaks to the balance we seek.
Mann's work will be on display in the Community Room of the Altadena Main Library, 600 E. Mariposa St., thru the month of September.
