The day is here: it's light's on for Christmas Tree Lane tonight.
First, enjoy the Winter Arts & Crafts Festival at the Altadena Library parking lot, 600 E. Mariposa St. At least 15 vendors and five food trucks will be available to start you off in the holiday spirit. Winter festival starts at 2, and at 4 PM Santa Rosa Avenue will be closed to traffic.
Then, at 6 PM, the Christmas Tree Lane lighting ceremony begins: MC Tammy Trujillo of KPCC will introduce dignitaries, there will be a presentation of colors by the Blair IB ROTC, music by the Blair IB Singers, Daniel Landau and the Smithfield Barain, remarks by Christmas Tree Lane Association president Maureen Ward, culminating in the lighting of the Lane by Supv. Michael D. Antonovich. Lighting ceremony will take place at the corner of Mariposa Street and Santa Rosa Avenue.
Following the lighting of the lane, the John Muir High School Alumni Drum Corps will lead the crowd for a chance to enjoy the lane on foot, while the street is still closed to traffic.
It's a bit of small town Americana in Los Angeles County, so come early and enjoy one of Altadena's signature events.
