In addition to the new summer hours (4-8 PM) and "picnic in the park" (see previous story here), the Altadena Farmer's Market is offering even more this summer.
Market manager Joseph Shuldiner writes:
We are currently organizing programing to take place at the market from June – September. The program is called Summer Nights at the Altadena Farmers’ Market. We will have four different programs and also a new stage area on the Great Lawn, adjacent to the market .
Summerstock - Featuring local entertainers and performers
Summer Camp - Our series of food demonstrations and DIY food projects
Summer School – Lectures and panels on food, agriculture and other related topics
Summer Movies – Screening of food-related movies and documentaries.
And, he says, they keep adding new vendors:
Last week we welcomed Pizza of Venice to the market! They have a “You Buy it We Bake it” policy, which is a fun and interactive way for customers to eat market produce at the market! Next week (May 22) we have the privilege of adding El Huarache Azteca to the market. Huarache is a wonderful family run Mexican restaurant in Highland Park. They will be serving up some wonderful Mexican food and aquas frescas in the Altadena Farmers’ Market expanding “Food Circle”!
The Altadena Farmer's Market is on Wednesdays at Loma Alta Park on Palm Street, at the corner of LIncoln Avenue, next to the Altadena Community Garden.
