With PUSD classes ending June 6, it's time to look for something to keep the kids occupied during the hot summer days. PUSD has sent along this list of local activities that will keep them occupied and who knows, they might learn something:
- Pasadena LEARNs offers five weeks of summer academics and enrichment activities from June 11-July 12. The program is free Monday - Thursday for all PUSD students who attend a school that has a LEARNs afterschool program. Visitwww.gopusd.com/learns or call (626) 396-3614 for more information.
- The Pasadena Educational Foundation is once again offering its popular Summer Enrichment Program to K-8 and high school students, with classes ranging from Creative Writing to Chess. High school credit classes are also available. Registration is open and classes are filling up fast, so visit www.pasedfoundation.org/summer or call (626) 396-3625 to enroll.

- El Centro de Accion Social offers Summer School in the Park for kindergarten through 12th grade students June 24-July 26. For more information call (626) 792-3148 or go to www.elcentropasadena.org.
- Neighbors Acting Together Helping All (NATHA) offers its Community of Organized Learners Academy (COOL) for K-6 grade students in two sessions starting June 17. COOL academy provides science, math and language enrichment activities, field trips and more. Each three week session is 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and costs $25 per child. Space is limited. - The SKILLZ collaborative provides summer school for incoming 9th and 10th grade students who are at academic risk. With the Flintridge Center as the lead agency, the collaborative is composed of nonprofit organizations including PUSD, the city of Pasadena, Day One and the Lake Avenue Community Foundation. The program provides students with life skills training in the morning and pre-algebra and credit recovery A-G academic classes in algebra 1 and English 1 during the afternoon.
