- Arroyos & Foothills Garden Party: Pasadena mayor Bill and Claire Bogaard will host a fundraiser for the Arroyo & Foothills Conservancy at their home, starting at 6 PM. The garden party
is an opportunity to rub elbows with environmental leaders and show your
support for preserving favorite hiking and riding trails, scenic views,
and much of what makes our local area unique.
This event kicks off AFC’s 2010 fundraising drive to help identify, purchase and protect natural open space that might otherwise be developed, in nearby canyons and foothills, such as the 20 acres of Rubio Canyon that were permanently protected by AFC recently. AFC has expanded its mission to include Pasadena, La Canada, La Crescenta, Glendale, Altadena and neighboring areas. With this expansion, the all-volunteer board of directors has increased to 9 members, enabling more land preservation projects to be started. Tickets are available at www.afc10th.myevent.
