Angeles Crest 100 MIle Endurance Run starts in Wrightwood. The foot race starts at 5 AM Saturday morning and traverses the San Gabriel Mountains for a total distance of 100.5 miles and over 21,000' of climbing Look for the winner to arrive at the finish line, at Loma Alta Park, sometime after 10 PM, but most finishers will start arriving early Sunday morning. Holden open house: 41st District Assemblyman Chris Holden invites the community to a block party and resource fair on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 11 AM-3 PM. The event is an effort to distribute information about state and local programs and services available to residents of the district. The fair includes rides, entertainment, a car show, and state and federal government informational displays. Pasadena Fire Fighters will be cooking up free hot dogs. The location is the 500 block of Jackson Street in Pasadena. Parking will be located on El Molino, Los Robles, and the open secitons of Madison and Oakland Avenue.

Farnsworth Park Summer Concert is the Latin jazz of Altadena guitarist Brian Hughes. Concert starts at 7 PM, and is free, at the Farnsworth Park Amphitheater, Lake & Mt. Curve Avenues. Presented by the Sheriff's Support Group of Altadena.
